On July 31st 2014, all incoming 6th Graders will have the opportunity to visit Hiatt. Hosted by the Success Program, the day will include activities to build leadership skills, discovering everything you need to know about Hiatt and learning the secret to opening your locker in record time. This program is a great opportunity for new 6th graders to get to know other students, teachers, the building and have LOTS OF FUN!!!! Click above for more information.

The start of a new and exciting school year is quickly approaching. Amos Hiatt Middle School will host registration August 6th from 8:30 AM-6:30 PM and August 7th from 9:30 AM-4:30 PM. At Hiatt we understand that this time of year can be busy for families and because of this we have opened up two weeks in the month of July for early registration.

´╗┐Football season is around the corner. East High Football staff will be hosting a 3 day football camp for students entering 3rd-8th Grade.

More than 150 middle school students were honored on-stage at North High School for outstanding achievement in a variety of categories. Each DMPS Middle School was represented at the 1st Annual Stellar Awards and each student took home a standing plaque and a book, highlighting the quality recognized that evening. Hundreds of middle school students, along with parents and teachers, gathered at East High’s Williams Stadium yesterday for the annual DMPS Middle School Track & Field Meet. Dave Pittman, American Idol Season 9 contestant, visited AHMS on Friday May 2nd for an energetic performance and touching personal story about bullying and the stigma behind having a disability.

Amos Hiatt Middle School is proud to announce a new reading group called The Amos Hiatt “Litter”ary Club. Students visit the Animal Rescue League of Iowa twice a month to read to the animals.
