Project Wisdom is a character education program we use every morning at Hiatt Middle School. Everyday students and staff hear lessons and morals that remind each person to make better choices. This program encourages positive behavior, good character and fosters a positive school climate.

Great things happen for those that do great work. This week a group of students that were awarded for the student of the week during the start of the school year had the opportunity to go to an Iowa Wild hockey game.

Family Consumer Science has been making pies to learn to work in a team and the essential curriculum for their class. They have had great fun and have learned new skills.

The student application process for the June 2019 Kofu, Japan Exchange is underway. This student exchange is entering its 36th year and proves to be one of the most rewarding educational opportunities offered to the students of Des Moines Public Schools.
